In the middle of last month Diana and I took a little trip to Vegas, we had a blast. It was D's first time in Sin City and I think she was really impressed on how big everything is. Vegas is built with the word "big" in every ton of concrete poured. There must be a contest amongst billionaires on who can spend the most money and who can build the biggest, grandest monstrocity on the the strip. And then... they build a hotel or a shopping centre or just about anything you can think of and the people come. People go to forget about life at home, I went to Vegas just for that reason, to be amongst the noise and confusion of the casino's, the people and the sight and sounds of a very busy city. All this happens within the first couple of hours and then... the sun goes down and all the lights come on. Every hotel, retail store has a sign that lights up , it tis an impressive site, flashing, neon lights everywhere... your vision and hearing senses go into overload and you just stand looking at everything around you...
All the forementioned stuff happened with the first twelve hours, you explore stores, hotels, restaurants, there is so much to do that you can't see it all, ever... but give kudo's to D, she tried...
I discovered the casino rather quickly, I love the casino's (except the cigarette smoke) the noise of the machines, people excited about winning, the casino floor is huge, one armed bandits everywhere, video blackjack, you name game, they got it. I really suck at video blackjack (a game Bev loved to play and sort of got me hooked) and then discovered a machine called Red White and Blue, slot machine, I had a blast with this machine. I love winning, it leaves such a wonderful feeling throughout your person, I love winning because I knew when to 'walk away'.
It was a great time, came back relaxed and looking forward to a new challenge!
