Surf's up... I mean really up!!!!!!

Yesterday we have very rough seas, waves as high as 12 feet, wow... it was something else to experience. There were a lot of people a little green around the gills and not just from drinking. The pitch and roll of the ship can be a huge challenge to us land lubbers. I experienced a few minutes of feeling sea sick, not pleasant a and you can do nothing about it except take gravol and then taking a very long nap. Once the pitching and rolling stopped that is when we started with the high waves and rough seas.

I have just returned from an self guided tour (shopping with Diana and Nadine) of downtown Ketchican. The ladies are still out shopping, I hate shopping, it is pouring rain, so I came back to the ship (use to call it a boat till today, man this ship is big) to dry off and catch a little internet time.

We dined in the International dining room last night at our assigned table, we didn't make it the first night as Nadine had a little too much to drink and could barely stand up... hmmmmm... she has been good since as she too had an issue with sea sickness (lasted most of the morning and a good part of yesterday afternoon), feeling better today. Anyway, I digress, we are seated at a table with 5 other people, a couple from Tacoma Washington and a couple, with their adult son, from Delta. It was a pleasant evening and it was really nice to be waited on instead of the usual buffet. The Horizon Court Buffet is not bad, we eat there for breakfast and lunch and there is an exceptionally good variety of food. I can see why people would put on 5 lbs... if you pace yourself and not take the elevator that is closes to your room, and do all the walking, you should be able to keep the weight down. I seem to do a lot of walking just to find stuff, just yesterday I found the easiest way to the internet cafe, it is just down a flight of stairs from our room... pays to take the stairs.

Anyway got go have lunch, eating again... and my time is almost up for computer time. Will right again tomorrow...

Sounds like a interesting trip...nice to have the option of a different prospective this time around.....too bad about the sea sickness...unless you like the colour green.... :( I'm sure the most popular sundrie item on board would be gravol....Continue having fun and keep your feet dry!
