Flying out of Phoenix

We are at the airport in Phoenix, crappy nights sleep at the Travelodge, have already had a cup of Starbucks, just waiting for the caffeine to kick in.

I had my eyes opened this morning, when returning the rental car they present you with a copy of your bill (actually they read it to you, that ask if it's alright, they hand it to you and off you go to catch a shuttle). Now remember folks, everything is confusing, you have to return car, catch shuttle, make your way to airport, kinda sensory overload, so you pay no attentio to detail till you sit and drink your coffee and pull out receipts, go over the morning rush and then you read the receipt from the car rental place and your whole life comes into perspective, the expense for the car wasn't too bad and then........................................comes the taxes, folks you think YOU are taxed for everything under the sun, well..............................quit complaining, you are charged for Consolidated facility, Airport access fee,Vehicle license surcharge, Stadium charge (what Stadium????????) Phoenix city sales tax (shot term) another Phoenix city sales tax and last but definitely not least, Transaction Privilege Tax, so there you have it... I think people who rent cars are definitely paying thru the nose....

Anyway, enough nattering... we have to go off to our gate shortly, so again I say... tata till later...Marilyn
